Pat a cake

Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake, Baker's man!
Bake us a cake as fast as you can,
Mix it and prick it

And mark it with B,    

And put it in the oven for baby and me.

ACTIVITY:
Clap hands as you say the rhyme:

• babies and toddlers can be gently tapped in time to the beat;
• young children do a simple clap;
• older children could clap knees and hands alternating
• more difficult would be to face a partner and clap their hands and then your own alternating.

DEVELOPMENT: a sense of rhythm (amongst other things)
