Mud Day Song
Take your feet out of your shoes, out of your shoes, out of your shoes,
Take your feet out of your shoes...
and stick them in the mud!
Take your feet out of your slippers, out of your slippers, out of your slippers,
Take your feet out of your slippers...
and stick them in the mud!
Take your hands out of your gloves, out of your gloves, out of your gloves,
Take your hands out of your gloves...
and stick them in the mud!
What actions would you do?
We stand and lift 1 foot and then the other up in the air and then on "and stick them in the mud!" we JUMP forward.
Sometimes we sing it as we take of our shoes and socks and walk outside to the mud patch or the sand pit.

I'm a little airplane
I'm a little airplane, on the ground
(Raise your arms at the sides to shoulder height.)
Spin my propellor round and round
(They spin one arm as if it were a propeller)
When I get all revved up
Then I fly,
(Raise arms to shoulder height.)
Off the runway
(They start walking forward.)
To the sky!
(Move around area on tip e toes.)

Sunflower, sunflower, standing straight and tall,

Sunflower, sunflower, by the chickens they'll be found. (Sit and "peck" ground like a chicken's beak)

WHAT DO ALL THE RHYMES HAVE IN COMMON?
Movement.
We all get more input to the little white cells when movement is involved. Also I find these are the rhymes that children enjoy most, whether they are old rhymes or new, whether you change the words from froggy to mousey they enjoy moving and interacting.
Sunday

We will whirl around and twirl around,
And all fall down together.
