Santa Wear your Shorts

We all love a warm, warm Christmas
sitting outside on a summer night
We’re all wishing for a warm warm Christmas
Maybe Santa Claus would wear his shorts tonight

Santa Wear Your shorts
Santa Wear Your shorts
Santa Wear Your shorts tonight
Santa Wear Your shorts
Santa Wear Your shorts
Santa Wear Your shorts tonight

Brother keeps smiling, Sister does too
we put our Christmas turkey on the barbecue
Mum is happy cos’ warm weather’s cool
and Dad is happy cos’ he’s swimming in the pool

Santa Wear Your shorts
Santa Wear Your shorts
Santa Wear Your shorts tonight
Santa Wear Your shorts
Santa Wear Your shorts
Santa Wear Your shorts tonight

Christmas in the Scrub

Aussie Jingle Bells - with lyrics

Dashing through the bush,
in a rusty Holden Ute,
Kicking up the dust,
esky in the boot,
Kelpie by my side,
singing Christmas songs,
It's Summer time and I am in
my singlet, shorts and thongs

Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Christmas in Australia
on a scorching summers day, Hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is beaut!
Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Holden Ute.

ACTIVITY: clap hands to beat
DEVELOPS: understanding of beat

Beat is the foundation of rhythm. It is the steady, repetition in music, like a clock's tick.  Tapping your foot to music is tapping the beat.
